Genel Lee Webb is a native of Elizabethtown, NC.  She has resided in Fuquay-Varina, NC since 2004.  She is a retired business owner of a successful home health company that she founded and operated for 16 years.  Prior to owning her own company, Ms. Webb worked in the telecommunications corporate industry for 20 years. Currently, she is involved in her local community in various capacities.  She serves on the Board of Directors for the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Adjustments for the Town of Fuquay-Varina, and the Board of Directors of The Guardian Angel

 Katrusia Katrusia "Kay" Johnson
Katrusia ‘Kay’Johnson is the Executive Director at Harbor, Inc. Harbor provides comprehensive services for individuals traumatically impacted by family violence. With close to 30 years of  experience in Not-for-Profit Management, Katrusia believes that her position at Harbor affords her the opportunity to emulate daily one of the four Rotarian Self-Test Principles, “Service Above Self”.  Katrusia holds a B.A degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  She also received her MATS degree from Liberty University. Katrusia is also the 2019 Triangle East Chamber recipient of the Athena International Leadership Award.

 Delores Bailey Image Delores Bailey
Delores Bailey Executive Director of EMPOWERment Inc. EMPOWERment Inc. is a non-profit located in Orange County, NC, whose mission is to “empower individuals and communities to determine their destiny through affordable housing, community organizing, and grassroots economic development” since 1996. Ms. Bailey joined the staff as a Community Organizer in 2002. She soon became Associate Director in community engagement, rental properties, and marketing. In May 2005, she became Executive Director.
 
Ms. Bailey worked diligently with the Northside neighborhood of Chapel Hill, NC, to create an overlay zone that addressed the gentrification concerns in this traditionally African-American, low-wealth neighborhood. A Conservation District was
established that has been the model for several other older neighborhoods in the Chapel Hill area. Ms. Bailey was an active participant in that process. EMPOWERment Inc. owns a small business incubator that caters to minority and women-owned businesses. Created in 2001, The Midway Business Center was Orange County, NC's first small business incubator. It has been responsible for the creation of over 400 start-up businesses. EMPOWERment created BrightPath Solutions under Ms. Bailey’s leadership after COVID-19. The initiative was created to address the barriers to resources that minority business owners face in Orange County. Under her oversight, EMPOWERment Inc. has become one of Orange County, NC's largest non-profit property owners of affordable rental units. EMPOWERment Inc. was named “Landlord of the Year” and voted “Non-Profit of the Year” by the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Chamber of Commerce. The rental properties have grown to 65. In 2023, EMPOWERment Inc. will build The Pine Knolls EMPOWERment Affordable Community Housing (P.E.A.C.H.) Apartments. Located in downtown Chapel Hill. This complex will consist of ten units dedicated to those families with the greatest need for housing, earning at or below 30% of the Area Median Income.
 
Ms. Bailey has helped develop other community-focused groups, such as Orange County’s Justice United, the Family Success Alliance, Third Sector Alliance, Kidzu Children’s Museum, and The Chapel Hill Black Business Alliance. She is a board member of The Martin Luther King Jr. University/ Community Planning Corporation, Triangle United Way, Carol Woods
Retirement Center, Chapel Hill’s Black Business Alliance, and The Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP.

 Leon Smith Image Leon Smith
Leon Smith is a former Capital State Policeman where he served for over ten years protecting state employees, Governors, Attorney Generals, and other top state officials. He retired from this position in 2014 as a Police Sergeant.
 
He is currently a police officer for a major hospital in North Carolina and have served in this position for ten years. He has been in law enforcement since 1983.
 
He is a Deacon in his local community church where he has served faithful since 1988. He has been happily married to the love of his life for thirty-nine years. His compassion is for the homeless as well as others in need.
 
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 1985 and a master’s degree in biblical studies form Safe Haven Bible College in 2018.

Darlene Stroud is the sole owner of D’s Tax & Financial Services Inc. located in Durham, NC.
She is the Senior Accountant at the practice. She has over 25 years of experience in the accounting industry. She specializes in tax preparation for small businesses and individuals. She works with local charities and non-profit companies to assist with cost reports, financial statements and various other tasks. She uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. She is inspired daily by her husband and two children.

Geneil is responsible for arranging all board meetings and preparing meeting agendas and minutes. Her responsibilities will
also include monitoring the budget for the board, maintaining membership records, tracking board member terms, and following up with board members to ensure the fulfillment of duties.
 
Geneil has over 20 years' operating in an administrative capacity. She also operates as a Program Manager for UNC Kenan Flagler Business School orchestrating Executive.
 
Development programs for C-Suite executives and coordinating all operational elements from inception through completion while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, participants, faculty, and delivery partners. 
 
Before working at UNC Executive Development, Geneil worked as an Administrative Assistant at Duke PDC, managing daily operations of strategic services and network development.
 
Geneil has worked as a Benefits Coordinator for St. Mary’s Life Center and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.
Geneil obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business
Administration from North Carolina Wesleyan College.
 
Geneil enjoys working with youth groups and women’s groups. She has coordinated programs and events for youth and women’s groups in various churches for several years. Geneil enjoys doing outreach programs and community service.

Founder  Dr. Hattie B. Stancil Image Founder - Dr. Hattie B. Stancil


Dr. Hattie B. Stancil is a person of integrity whom people place a great deal of trust. She is very responsible and a person of excellent character. She encourages and motives people to new heights.
Dr. Hattie B. Stancil is a profound leader pastoring four churches in four cities, Harvest Word, Zebulon, NC, Harvest Word, Charlotte, NC, Barbee’s Chapel Harvest Word, Chapel Hill, NC and Barbee’s Chapel Harvest Word in Sanford, NC. Dr. Stancil received her Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Religion at the New Life Community Church School of Ministry in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina in 2003 through 2006. For seven years, after receiving her master’s degree and Doctorate, she became a faculty member at the NLCC School of Ministry.
An educator and an advocate for education, in 2006 Dr. Stancil launched the Safe Haven Interdenominational Bible College and Training Institute which flourishes to this day. Dr. Stancil is a devoted civic and community servant. She founded the Esther House Outreach Ministry (Zebulon) providing resources and life skill training to women who needed a second chance in life. In 2015, she established the Esther House Thrift Store designed to provide high quality clothes and household items at affordable prices. The “Parents without Partners” Program she created is a spinoff from the Esther House Ministry. It trains women to set life and family goals while teaching them skills to manage their lives, rear their children and make wise use of their finances. Presently, the Esther House program she originated provides transitional housing and counseling to single women who are getting their lives back on track. In 2015, the Esther House Ministry was the recipient of proceeds from a partnership between Olin T. Binkley Baptist and Barbee’s Chapel Harvest Word Churches. This large award allowed Ester House to renovate several homes for families and individuals in need of housing.
Her prowess as an author and playwright came to fruition in 2014 and 2015 with the production of an original stage play entitled, “From Then Until Now” chronicling the spiritual and historical journey of African Americans in the United States from slavery until the present. This play has been presented in numerous cities to date. Her first book of poetry, “A Voice from All of Us”, was published in 2015 raising awareness of the plight of people and their life situations all around us.
